Photography Assignment

Something blue using the rule of thirds

I had always felt that what we see completely changes as day shifts to night. Perhaps that is why I had always found both the sunset and the sunrise to be such a calming periods. You get the best of both worlds in a sense - the light from the day and the bittersweet melancholy of the night. The hues of various pigments playing in the sky, mixing and merging to form even more dazzling shades certainly adds the charm, but it is mainly the peace and quiet of those moments that attract me.

Something yellow using the rule of thirds

Flowers are the adornments of nature, each beautiful and unique in its colors, shape, and structures. As appealing as they are to the eye, some have deemed them as something more than mere decorations. While some use particular flower petals in cooking or making teas, others had found a way to utilize them for their fragrance, colors in dyes and even some medicinal properties. It is truly awe-inspiring how something so fragile looking is so versatile, and it teaches us that you do not necessarily have to be strong to be of use to others. Always focus on your strengths and hone the skillset that is in your possession.

Something using fill the frame

Having developed an interest in cooking and in particular baking sure has its perks. For one, we rarely ever got a cake on any birthdays, and making one was a present in itself in a way. This particular cake was an experiment that went slightly off as we did not get the red velvet cake that we had hoped for, nonetheless the sponge base did turn out to be fantastic. However, the icing was always the best part, since we had complete freedom to concoct different flavors, glazing and all, and I remember how every time we would quarrel about how the icing should be laid out. It is always a sweet experiment. Quite literally.

This is the picture of a portion of the Pakistan Monument taken the day after we had left the hostels in November. Me and my good friends had booked the train for a later date so that we had a complete day to tour around the city as much as we could given the limited time we had. Nonetheless it was a great experience, and as an introvert at heart certainly a most refreshing one. The Pakistan Monument has beautiful carvings along all the domed walls that portrait the creation of this state, and it was an eye-opening experience.

On that same fateful day, we had also managed to visit Faisal Masjid. Albeit having visited this majestic architectural brilliance before, I felt like this experience was the most satisfying one by far. By the time we had visited here it was already evening so we had offered our prayers and did some good ol' photo session.

Pictures of something using leading lines

Not sure if the leading lines from the tiles are exactly visible or not, but I thought that it was still worth a mention not only because I'm occupying the center stage (hehe) but also because you can see the main building of the magnificent Faisal Masjid in the back.

I remember the events of this day as clear as yesterday. Despite a handful of our batch actually showing up for the hike on the campus trail, we still managed to have a really good time. A big shout out to all my classmates who actually managed to show up for this (you know who it is if you are in this picture).

One of my friends managing to look effortlessly dapper in this picture. We may be walking down different paths now, but the memories of our time together will always be treasured.

Another picture of a really good friend/former classmate in a really good background. Back in our days in college we were the odd-balls, what with the unique subject combinations we had. It was a delightful experience nonetheless, since it was far better than having to face those circumstances alone. We do stay in touch even now, and I would nothing more to meet up with him again (if only I wasn't buried under a pile of assignments at the moment hahaha).

Creative Picture of Self

Believe it or not this one had me wrack my brains the most, since a usually classify myself as the boring guy, and finding a creative side to myself was a very very VERY tedious task. This picture might not seem like something special, but for me it depicts the beautiful scenery and then there is the lil ol' me in the center (yet again). I have always found nature to be fascinating and the idea of simply soaking in its beauty seems so aesthetically pleasing to me, and I would love nothing more than to make more friends who I could venture with, seeking out as many of the scenic sites as we can.

And on that note I really hope I wasn't too boring or dry, and I really hope you liked this blog :)

  1. The one thing I loved about your blog is your extensive use of lavish vocabulary. Your flex of being a boring guy remains at top here also but we all know that you are jolliest person of our class. Last but not least I am also in the batch meetup photograph.
